Take me to your river

6/27/2016

Like all my Journeys, Miss. K’s was nothing short of an adventure. I was so glad when she offered to share about her experience for this little ole’ blog of mine. Read on for an inside look at why a single gal in her 20’s would go on a Journey just for herself.

“Many people ask me when am I getting married, settling down, and having a family. I’m a single woman in her late 20’s, and I personally feel like I’m just beginning to discover how powerful and complete I can be all on my own. I don’t NEED anyone to complete me. I am whole and loved and capable of big things on my own individual path in life, which is why I reached out to Michelle for a boudoir photo session.”

“Michelle’s philosophy of boudoir matched my current life outlook — beauty and empowerment”.
“Body image has been a setback for most of my life, but I have worked hard to focus on health and inner beauty over outward appearance. I am proud of who I am in the present moment. Michelle captured this in ways that left me speechless.”
“We chose an outdoor setting because my soul is at peace in nature. Romans 1:20 says “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse”. God can be seen through His creation, both in nature and in one another.
This experience reminded me of the importance of taking care of and celebrating me, just as I am. ;-).  I am forever grateful and in love! ❤❤❤” – Miss. K.

Miss. K, I can’t help but smile and laugh every time I see these photos. Our adventure was so not the way I thought it would go (between the lack of water, giant man eating mosquitos and the scary fisherman haha) but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Isn’t life like this though. We have plans and they NEVER go exactly how we expected. But it is those who can steal little in-between moments, little spaces between the chaos of the unexpected, who live the most beautifully. And Miss. K, I would say this day, you specifically, were  remarkably beautiful.
From the bottom of my heart. Thank you for allowing me to go on this Journey with you.
And just so you know, I am down for any adventure you ever want to take.

P.S. So we never forget hahah. ;p

  1. LOVE…. Another amazing shoot!! I love how you can bring out the beauty even there is a fisherman in your shoot, giant mosquitos & lack of water… It just shows that you see the beauty from maybe a less than ideal .
